1. Find the purpose of high school education: although you may never need to know the time two trains traveling distance Y at speed X pass each other, you do need to learn how to study, problem solve, think analytically, and work well with others. If you can see that high school is in fact teaching you a lot that you need to learn, you may find your time there more rewarding.
2. Work hard, do the best you can, grade-wise and learning-wise, anything less hurts only you.
3. Treat your teachers, staff, administrators, and school custodians with friendliness and respect. It’s the right thing to do, and will help you when you are scrambling for letters of recommendation.
4. Get more sleep! Studies show that even a couple of nights of sleep deprivation drastically lowers grades and test scores. Eight hours should be your minimum!
